The Moroccan government has officially initiated the registration process for the Direct Social Support program, effective from Saturday, December 2.
The office of the head of the government has invited prospective beneficiaries to submit their applications through the online portal www.asd.ma.
Eligibility is contingent upon registration with the National Population Registry (RNP) and the Unified Social Registry (RSU).
The initiative aligns with King Mohammed’s directives aimed at implementing the Direct Social Support program, scheduled for full implementation in 2023.
Upon processing the applications, registered families can expect a response within a maximum period of 30 days, according to the statement.
Disbursement of support funds will occur at the end of each month, provided all specified conditions under Law No. 58.23 regarding the Direct Social Support system are met.
The system is designed to provide direct assistance to families, particularly those in need. This includes social groups such as school-age children, children with disabilities, newborns, and economically vulnerable families without school-age children, especially those supporting elderly individuals.
The minimum support for each family, regardless of its composition, is set at MAD 500 per month, with the possibility of reaching over MAD 1,000 monthly.
The amount of funds allocated will depend on the unique circumstances and composition of each family, particularly the number of children.
The government aims to kickstart the disbursement of the initial aid by the end of December 2023, as part of the country’s broader social support initiative.
