Huawei Organizes Second Digitech Ecosystem Summit in Essaouira


Huawei Technologies Morocco, the global supplier of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment and infrastructure, launched today in Essaouira the two-day second edition of the Digitech Ecosystem Summit.

The summit, which revolves around emphasizing Huawei’s contribution to Morocco’s digital skill development, has brought together information and communication technology specialists, representatives from the public and commercial sectors, ministers, government partners, and institutional players.

In a press release, Huawei Morocco spoke of having had the pleasure to support the North African country’s digital transformation over the course of twenty years and provide its partners with its know-how and expertise, to encourage the digital transformation of any industry.

“Over the years, Huawei has been consistent in bringing digital transformation to every family,” General Manager of Huawei Morocco, David Li, said during his opening speech.

As of today, the Digitech Talent initiative has sixty partner universities working with 13,000 students and 1,700 individuals certified, the statement added.

Under the theme “At the heart of Morocco’s digital transformation,” the summit notably paid tribute to the “Coding Heroes,” a team of Moroccan school children who recently won third place in the Dubai robotics competition.

The summit also presented awards to the best ICT Academy instructors, best ICT Academy students and ambassadors, and winners of the Huawei ICT Competition in Cloud, Network and Computing.

On the sidelines of this ceremony, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed to set up cooperation partnerships in the technological and digital fields.

Partnering with Huawei to organize this year’s Digitech Ecosystem Summit are the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Essaouira’s City Council, the Delegate Ministry in charge of relations between the Head of Government and Parliament, the Foundation of Development and Innovation Research in Science and Engineering, and Essaouira Mogador Association.

In the press statement announcing the launch of the summit, Huawei stressed that all these partners are committed to developing training programs to strengthen the education sector and improve access to personal and professional development opportunities for young people and other stakeholders.
