Libya Draws With Cameroon in World Cup Qualifiers

The Libyan national football team drew 1-1 with its Cameroonian counterpart at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, in the second round of the group D of qualifiers for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which includes: Libya, Cameroon, Angola, Cape Verde, Eswatini, and Mauritius.

The Cameroonian national team’s first goal came from penalty in the 33rd minute of the first half, and before the end of the first half, in the 43rd minute, the Libyan national team equalized the score through Abdel Moneim Akasha.

With this draw, the Libyan national team points rise to 4, after winning the first round with a goal against the Eswatini national team, and it is the same tally as the Cameroon national team after it won in the opening round against Mauritius with three goals to nil, to lead the group on goal difference over Libyan national team.
