As part of Morocco’s new roadmap for digital development, the Techno Parks are considered a privileged destination for innovation and support for start-ups; they also present a professional offer dedicated to nomadic start-ups and adapted to their expectations.
After the Techno Parks in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Agadir, the Essaouira Techno Park reflects the vision and efforts deployed to help the different regions of Morocco to access the benefits of the digital world, said the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Ghita Mezzour.
The Essaouira Techno Park mobilised an investment of nearly 2 million euros to provide a structure capable of hosting innovative startups and project holders in the digital sector. Its modern architecture includes flexible workspaces, training rooms and collaborative spaces.
As part of the strategy of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Reform of the Administration for the development of a local innovative support offer for the benefit of new companies operating in the digital field, sustainable development and creative industries, the new Techno Park named in the city of Essaouira extends over an exploitable surface of 2,350 m² with a capacity to host 60 MSEs, startups and project holders.
Like other technological areas, the Essaouira Techno Park has a coworking area with 35 modular spaces ready for use and intended for startups and nomadic, national and international entrepreneurs wishing to have a local antenna or a plug and play workspace.
“Morocco’s ambition is to establish ten Techno Parks in ten cities in the Kingdom by 2026 and to reach more than 1,300 beneficiaries of the services provided by these structures,” said Mezzour, stressing that “the actions carried out through the Techno Parks are only the beginning”.
In this regard, in view of the positive results and the significant achievements of the Techno Parks at the national level, the Ministry is committed to finalising the regional expansion strategy that envisages the opening of three more Techno Parks in Fez, Oujda and Tiznit in 2024.
